I used spray paint, spray mount for few and for the rest fabric paint. The colors I chose to represent myself Pink shades and purple.

A silver pencil case

A black shiny form

Pink color night wear slippers

A colorless file

A light yellow color towel

A multi baby colour accessory box

Six beautiful items with my monogram on it...

I was really happy with the out come of my hard work. My friends too liked it. Miss. is was also happy with my work.Again I feel so proud of what I have done.

Research on Monograms

At the same time as part of our assignment to create a monogram for ourselves, Ms.Lisa our lecturer asked us to toss through books, magazines, newspapers from the library. We were asked to solo out designs that we like and do a short write-up on the reasons we found the design eye-catching.

When I went to the library i found this book, a very interesting book.  It was about Font and how people made use of these fonts.

My 1st Design (Neon City)

The design in the book:Neon City

The example of Neon City

Why I liked the design?
  • It is not only used for sign.It is a combination of Argon, Mercury, Helium and colored tubing generate the Spectrum.Round glass tubing is about 1 cm in diameter and cannot be flattened to generate wide surface of neon. These signs rely on mapping the basic contour of shape. This form has expand well, not only as advertising but also as a form of art.So much of studies in neon fonts and colors.
My 2nd Design(Hotel Fonts)
The design in the book: Hotel Fonts

Example of a Hotel Font

Why I liked the design?
  • Gives a classy look. The fonts look bold or italic. Looks so prominent when we enter into a hotel. There is something about the brass and gold painted hotel lettering that makes you want to pull up to the curb in a tinted window limousine. The signature for these hotels was created for an era when travel still had connotations of civilization and hotel lobbies were lobbies were graced with literacy and culture figures.

My 3rd Design (Bright colors)

The design in the book: Bright colors

Example of bright color

Why I liked the design?
  • During the 40's, Times square comes up with the outrages advertising ploys, giant billboards and steaming coffee cups. Which look really big, brighter and bolder. Will look attractive at times and will look even too shiny. Easy to figure out places which has these sort of bright block fonts names. Very creative and innovative.

My Monogram

Here again we have been assigned to do another work... Pfffffttt...So tiring you know. We are packed with assignment but you know what Ms. Lisa makes it easier for us. She comes up with simple and easy going assignments.. Ahaaa..... though I mention it as easy, we are suppose to think out of the box. as always. We should think beyond the limit... I mean common you cannot come up with the same design every time when an assignment is given right... So yeah!

Here we go! Our new assignment was to design a monogram. Well you all must bethinking it as a simple logo. Nah! It's not actually.  It means,
  1. monogram
    ˈmɒnəgram/
    noun
    1. 1.
a motif of two or more interwoven letters, typically a person's initials, used to identify a personal possession or as a logo.
"a handkerchief with his monogram embroidered on one corner"
    verb
    1. 1.
      decorate with a monogram.
"Irish linen napkins monogrammed with the initials C.S"

Few examples of monograms which I was inspired of,

Here are the monograms I came up with using my initials,

Miss.Lisa was happy with my work and so was I. :)
She selected 1 monogram for me and asked me to develop using it.

    These are what I did,

I showed my sketches and Miss Lisa asked me to add something that depicts me. Maybe a little bit of touch up. Something feminine...Then i drew the curvy ends and a crown on the top.She did like that and I was really glad of what I did. :)
